Alberta Environment and Parks would like to hear your perspectives about fisheries and fisheries management, with a particular focus on enhancing recreational fishing opportunities across the province. Feedback from Albertans will be reflected in the 2020 Alberta Sportfishing Regulations, which come into effect on April 1st. This feedback will also be considered as part of an updated fisheries management plan.

The province will host 11 open house events in January. Each event is 4:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. for your convenience. Details on the open house events can be found on this page.

The proposals presented at the open houses are also available for your feedback on this site (see tabs below).

  • Share your thoughts on opportunities for enhanced recreational fishing in the province, and on Minister Jason Nixon's vision for fisheries management in Alberta.

  • Suggest topics for further discussion as we continue the conversation
