This personal information collection is authorized by section 33(c) of the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy (FOIP) Act and is managed in accordance with Part Two of the FOIP Act.     About Privacy Protection in Alberta

    In Alberta, there is a privacy framework (which includes laws, like the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act and Personal Information Protection Act) that sets requirements on the collection, use, and disclosure of personal information in Alberta. Some common examples of personal information include (but are not limited to): 

    • name;
    • home or business address; 
    • home or business telephone number;
    • demographic data (for example, ethnicity, age, gender identity, marital or family status); and
    • an identifying number, symbol, or other particular assigned to an individual (for example, your driver’s license number).

     

    About This Survey

    This survey is an opportunity for everyone to share their opinions on privacy protection in Alberta.

     The survey may take 25-30 minutes to complete. 

     Your participation will help determine the steps Government of Alberta must take to:

    • strengthen privacy protections;
    • optimize the value of data for the benefit of Albertans; and
    • improve government service delivery.
