The Government of Alberta is conducting an internal review of the Research Capacity Program (RCP)

The RCP is a provincial infrastructure funding program that supports Alberta’s post-secondary institutions in advancing research, talent development, and innovation.

Since its inception, the RCP has helped build the labs, tools, and facilities that power discovery, attract top talent, and support innovation, from foundational science to commercialization and startup creation. It is designed to leverage federal funding from the Canada Foundation for Innovation (CFI) and support research projects with strong potential for economic, social, health, and environmental impact.

As a valued stakeholder in Alberta’s research and innovation ecosystem, we invite you to share your insights to help us understand the RCP’s strengths, challenges, and opportunities for enhancement, particularly in relation to commercialization and real-world impact. We are looking for feedback from a broad range of voices. You don’t need to have received RCP funding or be an expert to participate. Whether you’re a researcher, policymaker, innovation partner, or user of research infrastructure, your insights are important. Your feedback will help inform the 2026/27 competition cycle.

The survey takes 15 to 20 minutes to complete and closes October 3, 2025.

You may wish to create an account to save your progress, but this is not required to complete the survey.
