We have been exploring big island since about 2005 accessing it by truck, boat and on foot. A great place to see wildlife and relax. About a month ago we came across a large tiger salamander and this evening we watched a boreal owl maybe 7” tall for an hour. Saw a guy catch a big sturgeon few years back while we were anchored jigging. Caught my biggest river pike beside island back in 2012 it was 39” 19lb pike.
