RiverXchange

Connect your grade 4-6 class with another class in New Mexico though RiverXchange

RiverXchange is a FREE, year-long water resources and writing program that integrates science, social studies, and 21st-Century skills through online blogging partnerships with 5th grade classrooms in New Mexico. All lessons in our optional curriculum are correlated to U.S. Common Core Standards and support Next Generation Science Standards!

Our goal is to support educators and give students an opportunity to develop stewardship for their environments as they learn and share across borders with other classrooms.

We are looking for more partners (4th-6th grade) this year who want to explore with us and make a difference in our watersheds!

As a participant, classrooms are provided with a free educational blog (KidBlog) and partnered with a 5th grade classroom in Albuquerque, NM.

Over the course of 3-5 months, NM students will be sharing with you what they are learning about critical water resources issues by way of posting videos, photos, audio projects and/or reflective writings. Partner classes would share with them what they are learning in their classrooms related to ecology, their own watershed or water related concerns. Each class being able to respond to what the other has posted.

We provide the blog platform through June 2019, training, an optional curriculum loaded with water related activities and support throughout the school year.

Please email either melissa@riverxchange.com or Student.Action@gov.ab.ca for the registration form and our program flyer.
