Highwood School has Launched its School-Wide Composting Program!

Highwood School has just launched its school-wide composting program. The Eco Club students presented how to use the compost bins properly to all classrooms, to help inform all staff and students. The Eco Club gave each class a compost bin; students are putting organics, such as their fruit peels and paper towels, into the bins. We have also placed a large-sized compost bin in the lunchroom to collect food waste during the lunch hour. During the first week of implementation, we have already reduced the waste at our school by HALF! We look forward to continuing to monitor and refine our program in response to any feedback over the coming months.
